About Us

In 1937, our company founder, Paul M. Davison and his wife, Evelyn Davison, were involved in the transport of heating oil and diesel fuel from South Arkansas to Ruston during the winter months. Mr. Paul busied himself with outboard motor repairs during the summer.

This business began with a single Chevrolet cab and chassis truck with a two thousand-gallon tank mounted on the back. Mr. Paul would make the deliveries, and Miss Evelyn would take care of the books.

Our current president, James Davison, graduated from Ruston High School in 1955 and began to get involved in the business, during vacations and breaks from school. Upon graduation from Louisiana Tech University in 1959, James began an active role in the daily operations of the business. His activities included all aspects, to include driving and servicing the trucks; a grand total of four during the early sixties.

Today, Davison Transport, Inc. operates approximately 225 power units and an inventory of some 600 trailers (Dry Vans, Flat Beds, & Tank). Davison provides quality service and performance to our growing customer base.
